My Favorite Matte Lipsticks
I’ve only recently (in the last couple of years) started wearing lipstick and since then I’ve acquired quite the collection and tried a slew of different brands and colors. There’s something about a good lipstick that makes you feel powerful and put together no matter what you’re doing, how you’re feeling or what you’re wearing.
I personally prefer matte lipsticks because I find the color is more saturated and it stays on the longest with minimal reapplying. Some of my favorite brands are Kylie Cosmetics, Kat Von D, Smashbox, Too Faced and NYX.
Matte lipsticks can dry out your lips (especially in the winter), so I always try to wear chapstick the night before I plan on wearing it and at night once I’ve taken it off. These lipsticks have always come off pretty easily for me with a Neutrogena Face Wipe — my number one go-to makeup remover I use daily.
Kylie Cosmetics
Kylie’s line of Matte Liquid Lipsticks were the gateway matte lipstick brand for me and one of the best in my opinion. Her line has the thickest, longest lasting formula and so many great, saturated colors. Typically I have to reapply the least with this brand (if at all) throughout the day. My favorite colors are:
Kat Von D
Kat Von D’s line of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is another excellent matte lipstick. It is a tiny bit thinner than Kylie, but comes in a TON of colors ranging from daring to natural and will last you all day with minimal re-application. My favorite colors are:

Smashbox’s line of Always On Matte Liquid Lipsticks are another one of my go-tos and they have a great range of colors. They usually last pretty well throughout the day and they have a good mix of bold and more natural colors. My favorite colors are:
Too Faced
Too Faced’s Peach Kiss Moisture Matte Long Wear Lipstick is a game changer as far as matte lipsticks goes. It doesn’t dry out your lips AS bad as most others do but, because it’s not liquid, it doesn’t go on quite as smooth as most others either. Still highly recommend. My favorite color so far is:

For all my budget babes, NYX Slip Tease and Soft Mattes are a great place to start. Whether you’re not ready to commit to a higher priced lipstick or you want to test out what colors work best for you before spending the big bucks, this is a great place to start. These are thinner than the higher-end brands and do typically require a couple more re-applications throughout the day, but all in all are pretty good and I still use them regularly! My favorites are:
Tinted Lip Moisturizers
For days when your lips need a break but you still want a hint of color, I love Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm (favorite color is Super Strawberry) or Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm (favorite color is Red Dahlia).
